The Medical Research Zone Awards!

It’s been a brilliant 12 weeks, with fantastic conversations in the 97 live chats and 266 questions in Ask. Join even more chats this week in the Summer Zone!

We have a number of special events this week for you to get involved in! To celebrate National Insect Week this week, there are live chats with entomologists happening at 2pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. For International Women in Engineering Day, and we will be running FOUR chats with women in engineering at 11.30am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm on Tuesday 23rd June. Live chats in the Summer Zone are open to everyone, and fully moderated. Anyone can login with social media and join the chat. Students Join any of these chats with your I’m a Scientist account. Log in and go to the Summer Zone chat page Teachers Join any of the chats with your class or group. Log in to the Summer Zone with your existing account, or use social media. What’s been happening in the Medical Research Zone

For the past 10 weeks, scientists and students across the UK have been engaging online in the Medical Research Zone funded by MRC. So far we have seen an amazing 1155 school students logging in, and 281 questions sent to scientists in the zone! Students have asked questions about things about stem cells, whether we need our appendix , ageing, and antibiotic resistance. In live chats, students have been learning about a whole range of areas of medical research.
