Education:
I went to school in Hamburg, Germany and moved to Zurich, Switzerland to attend university. During my third year at university I went to London for a student exchange. After finishing my PhD I moved to Montreal, Canada. After some 1.5 years I moved to California, and now I’m working both in California and Cambridge.

I live in Los Altos, California in a house that I share with three other people. We have a big garden and four chickens. I always take my bike to work. When I’m not working I like to go climbing and dancing. On weekends I like to sit outside in the garden with a good book.

My Typical Day:
There is no typical day! My days usually include doing experiments, preparing materials for experiments, analysing data or results, preparing scientific illustrations and some writing.
