Hi (again!)
I personally haven’t worked on drugs specific to MS. However, MS is thought to be caused by a damaged/leaky blood-brain barrier, which allows immune cells to enter the brain and attack the coating of neurons (the myelin sheath). This interferes with the ability of neurons to communicate with each other. Because of this, many of the MS drugs currently in development are trying to promote the repair of the myelin sheath or reduce the number of immune cells entering the brain.
