It takes five years to get your veterinary degree to be able to work as a vet in the UK. During the five years, you learn all about the health and diseases of all kinds of animals (cows, sheep, horses, dogs, cats, chicken, hamsters and even wild animals!), and how to make them well. You also have to pass an exam at the end of your degree to get a qualification (MRCVS) which allows you to work as a vet almost anywhere in the world!
5 or 6 years, depending on the vet school. It’s longer in Cambridge where everyone gets some more training in the background science but some people choose to do that at other vet schools too. There’s lots of information here: https://www.vetschoolscouncil.ac.uk/study-and-training/
