That’s a really good question! I got my postdoctoral position applying for a job any other way you would. The advert was on the University website under their jobs section and I had to submit a CV and a cover letter about why I wanted the job and why I thought I would be good. I then had an interview where I had to a presentation about previous research I had done. There are also a lot of postdoctoral jobs advertised on a website called jobs.ac.uk, which are where most research jobs are advertised. They are not just for jobs in the UK but for all over the world!

I am currently writing a fellowship application for after my postdoctoral position finishes. This is an application to get my own funding and start my own lab and research my own ideas! It’s quite intimidating but exciting at the same time. It’s quite competitive to get funding but fingers crossed because I have lots of experiments in my head that I would like to do!
