That’s a great question and aren’t we all thinking it? I miss my family and friends but I know that in the weeks and months we spend in lockdown won’t look like much time when we look back on it in the future. I really can’t give an answer to your question but I just want to say that we’re thinking it too and we know it’s hard work! You’re doing a great job for the whole country (and world) by staying in your house. I hope someone can give you an answer soon 🙂

Thanks for your question! Sadly we don’t know the answer yet. Here is a link to the government’s official statements which is updated in real time- any timeframe for the ease of lockdown should be posted here when it’s been decided: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus. Hope that helps :-).

I think our government is looking to other countries who have started to lift lockdowns recently, such as Spain, Germany and Italy, to see what happens so we can learn from them. The problem is, any impact of such policies won’t be visible for at least 2-3 weeks, so I do not expect any big decisions will be made before that.
There is also issues with comparing countries, since there are a lot of differences between them,eg, Germany is doing a lot more testing than the UK.

We’re all thinking about this at the moment, it’s tough not to see family and friends. I think it’s likely that lockdown wont end in one go. People who are more likely to be very ill if they get COVID-19 might have to stay isolated for longer than other people – so older people, or people with some health conditions, might have to stay in some sort of lockdown after the rest of us are allowed out again.

I think things will also depend on keeping some sort of social distancing after lockdown officially ends. It might be okay to go to work or school as long as everyone stays 2 metres apart when they are in the same room, for example.
