Hi. We all want a cure and a vaccine for covid-19 but unfortunately, these things can take a long time to create. There are some medicines available to treat other diseases that are also now being tested against coronavirus so one of these might be available soon. Also, there are some vaccines that are already being tested in humans. Although this feels like a long time, the scientists are doing amazing things to get as far as they have so quickly. Normally, it takes over 10 years to develop a new medicine, so really, I think they are doing quite well already – it would be nice if it all happened a bit quicker though. By isolating ourselves and not mixing with people outside of our own homes, we are helping to slow the rate at which coronavirus is spreading and this is giving scientists more time to come up with a cure or vaccine – so isolation is really important at the moment, even though it can be really tough for us.

Hi @jamespliskin – actually I think that the research community are working faster than normal to develop a vaccine and tests for covid-19. it might seem slow, but we need to understand how the virus causes infections, induces symptoms and affects the host
