      Such a great question! This is one of the big questions that neuroscientists (brain scientists) are trying to find out the answer to. We don’t know the complete answer yet, but we do have some ideas. The brain is mainly made up of cells called neurons. Neurons can ‘fire’, which means they can send an electrical impulse out. Most neurons have long projections that come out of them and connect to other neurons. Through these connections (which are called synapses), the neurons can form a network. They talk to each other through electrical impulses. Sometimes neurons can fire in a specific pattern and neuroscientists think that this is how memories are stored inside your brain.
